Every rug is carefully and lovingly hand-knotted by Tibetan Weavers, as they follow a Tradition that extends back to the 11th century. Sheep still graze on the slopes of the Tibetan Highlands and it is their wool, rich in lanolin, that gives a soft and silky texture to the rug, exquisitely mellowing with age. | | Each rug is 1 metre square. A meditation rug carries a special message which reflects the harmony and balance of Nature. Each rug sounds a unique note, creating through colour, symbol and line, a magical synthesis which enhances the focus of meditation. The Rose Collection describes a ring of light in which the rose is held in love within an enchanted space. Through consultation with Sheila, a soul portrait emerges, reflecting the natural environment in which the heart sings its unique melody. These rugs can be specifically for meditative practice or used as a focus around the home, describing a space in which Nature’s Song is illuminated. | | Each rug in The Rose Collection can be ordered separately or a bespoke design can be created. Sheila is able to translate personal images in such a way as they tell a story of harmony and light, unique to each indvidual. If desired, a spoken word meditation can be created to use alongside personal practice, reflecting the story of the rug. Please allow two to three months for completion.
